Julie Brewer is the Executive Director of UCS. Julie has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Prior to relocating to Johnson County in 2011, Julie was the first Chief Operating Officer of the Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties, a newly created political subdivision tasked with closing the achievement gap amongst students in poverty, English language learners, and students experiencing high mobility in the eleven-member school district region of the greater Omaha metropolitan area, representing more than 110,000 public school students. Additionally, she led annual giving, endowment and major gifts programs at the United Way of the Quad Cities in Iowa/Illinois and provided consulting services, including strategic planning, to nonprofits for more than a decade in Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska. She has also directed public relations, advertising, and marketing programs for both nonprofit and private sector organizations. Julie joined the UCS team in 2016.
