National Day of Racial Healing

Racial healing is a practice rooted in connection. It invites us to come together, listen deeply, & see the shared humanity in each other. You are invited to our inaugural National Day of Racial Healing Breakfast! Join us at the Johnson County Library – Central Resource (Carmack Room) on January 20, 2026, at 9:30 AM for a morning of reflection, connection, and community.

Capitol Hill Advocacy Day

Join partners statewide on Feb. 17, 2026 at the State Capitol in Topeka to connect with your legislators and provide education on housing needs and evidence-based homelessness solutions in your region. Breakfast and lunch provided for registrants.

Capitol Hill Day Activities will include:

  • breakfast and kick-off with bipartisan legislators,
  • tabling and networking,
  • legislator meetings,
  • youth homelessness simulations,
  • committee hearings,
  • lunch presentation and networking.

Join us for Capitol Hill Day training and preparation:

  • January 7, 2-3:30 p.m. via zoom: Making Hill Day Meaningful
  • February 11, 2-3:30 p.m. via zoom: Logistics & Talking with Legislators

What to Expect on Capitol Hill Day:

On February 17th, check in at KSHC’s table.

Youth Homelessness Simulations: at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. for registrants and simulations can be scheduled at any time for legislators. Sign up at KSHC’s table on Feb. 17th to join a session or schedule a special simulation for a legislator.

Lunch: invite your legislators to join or offer to bring lunch to their office and have a quick meeting.
