Human Service Summit Report

Participants at the 2012 Human Service Summit shared their insights and experiences by answering  the question – “Based on your experience, which of the factors we’ve heard about today contribute most to increased strain on the public safety net? “  More than 80 responses were written on post-it notes.  The responses are grouped into five primary themes in order of frequency.

  • Factors associated with funding of the safety net.
  • The economy and related factors of the recession and unemployment.
  • Factors associated with personal values and philosophical beliefs.
  • Lack of understanding of the role and value of the safety net.
