Erika Garcia Reyes is the Director of Community Planning. Among her responsibilities, Erika leads and convenes the KS-505 Continuum of Care (CoC) on Homelessness, a community collaboration that seeks to improve the community’s response to poverty and homelessness. The CoC is made up of both private and public organizations and agencies who either serve those who are currently homeless or those who are most at risk. She convenes and leads the Emergency Food and Shelter Program grant fund process. Additionally, she serves on the Trauma Informed Care Committee, COMVAC.

Prior to joining UCS, Erika served in multiple roles where she advocated and supported minority and underserved populations. Most recently, she served as the local government project manager for the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), where she oversaw the Government Training Institute (GTI), led the Government to University (G2U) Talent to Industry Exchange committee, and implemented the Economic Development Administration (EDA) regional economic resiliency plan for the Kansas City region. Erika joined the UCS team in 2021.
